Kiir To TGoNU Government: Let Us Unite And Implement The Agreement President Salva Kiir Mayardit, while addressing the new cabinet of the Transitional Government of National Unity (TGoNU) urged them to unite and work for the implementation of the peace Agreement to end the suffering of the people of South Sudan.

JUBA, 01 April 2016 [Gurtong]- Kiir in his remarks at the swearing ceremony of the new TGoNU cabinet on Friday said all outstanding issues in the peace deal will be resolved amicably by the new government.

“..Let us move with our mindset that we are here to achieve permanent peace in our country. Let us not regret for what had happened – let us go on and open a new page and we start to work,” Kiir said.

 “If we work together as one body in this government, all these will come down; there will be no gunfire at night or by day time. Let us unite and do what is required of us by the agreement” he stressed.

 “…I assure you all that we are going to work together, the responsibility imposed on us by the agreement need and each every one of us to contribute to the stabilization of our country” Kiir said

Dr. Riek Machar Teny, First Vice President (FVP) on his part said the peace agreement is what the cabinet is tasked to implement for the good of the country.

 “When we stabilize the security, our economy will be stabilized. So we want to work to ensure our South Sudanese to be calm” Dr. Machar said.

“Cooperation is important in all these, if we act as groups, we will fail the people of South Sudan, but if we act as one cabinet, we will have our diverse ideas” said the FVP.

Dr. Lam Akol Ajawin, the Minister of Agriculture and Food Security on behalf of the other political parties assured the cabinet of their readiness to cooperate with new government for implementation of the peace accord.

 “You will always find us ready to do whatever which is in our capacity to push our country forward for the way of peace,” said Dr. Akol.

The new cabinet was sworn in on Friday making up 30 new Minsters.
